Poetry as art! Come see an installation of Jen Payne’s poetry called Random Acts of Writing: Pushing Time, at the Arts Council of Greater New Haven’s exhibit Shuffle & Shake, in the Sumner McKnight Crosby Jr. Gallery.
July 7-August 4, 2016
Opening Reception: July 14 from 5-7pm
Random Acts of Writing: Pushing Time is a literary installation that includes three poems “There Is No Synonym for Reunion, “Alternate Ending,” and “Transubstantiation.” Each poem explores the transience of time and how we dance along with it — Gracefully. Gratefully. Listen carefully and you’ll hear whispers of Alice in Wonderland, Mahatma Gandhi, René Magritte, Isaac Newton, and Gene Roddenberry.

Part 1, Shuffle, will take place July 7-August 4 with a reception on Thursday, July 14 from 5-7pm. Part 2, Shake, will take place August 11-September 8 with a reception on September 8 from 5-7pm. The artwork will be on view to the public from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday at the gallery located at 70 Audubon Street, Second Floor, New Haven. There is no fee.
