The Connecticut Book Trail is a group of 23 independently-owned Connecticut bookstores — including Guilford’s Breakwater Books — working together to bring more book lovers, both locals and tourists, into their shops. The Trail showcases the unique character and charm of each bookstore, while also highlighting the diverse literary community in Connecticut. For more information, visit ctbooktrail.org.
Since 1972, Breakwater Books has been serving Guilford and the shoreline with a curated selection of books and gift items for children and adults. Its current owners Dani and Rob Howard took over the bookstore in April 2023 and have worked hard to broaden the store’s involvement in the community.
