Currently featured in a nationwide blog tour, Evidence of Flossing: What We Leave Behind, the new book by writer/artist Jen Payne, will make an appearance at Seaside Home & Gifts in Stony Creek on Saturday, December 2 from 2pm – 5pm. See the Evidence, meet the author, and support local business during this pre-holiday book signing event.
Award-winning poet and artist Mary O’Connor says “It’s uncanny how Jen Payne grabs hold of seemingly ordinary strands of life — then surprises us with new meaning. A master at storytelling, she brings us to the realization that the stories she shares are actually ours. An engaging, thought provoking and masterful reflection on our collective legacy in this world.”
Evidence of Flossing: What We Leave Behind follows on the heels of Payne’s 2014 well-received book LOOK UP! Musings on the Nature of Mindfulness, and continues a dialogue about our innate connection with nature. It features 73 poems and more than 80 original and vintage photographs, including a series of discarded dental flossers that inspired the title of the book.
In addition to featuring books by local authors like Payne, Seaside Home & Gifts offers a unique selection of locally and New England made products by skilled artisans as well as customized gifts for special occasions.
The event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served. Seaside Home & Gifts is located at 172 Thimble Islands Road in Branford, CT. For more information please visit www.3chairspublishing.com.

Offered as an antidote to the fast pace of our lives and the toll it takes on our minds and spirits, the book LOOK UP! Musings on the Nature of Mindfulness is a clarion call to get up and get out — to look up from our work, our distractions, our routines — and to find our way back to the simple pleasure of being in Nature.

“LOOK UP! asks us to pause for a time, look around us and breathe in all the magic in our world. This is a book to keep close by and re-read again and again.”
– Margaret Iacobellis, Poet/Writer
